Until next week

We won’t be seeing mid 80’s that’s for sure.  Maybe..maybe 70, and that’s the end of next week.

Last week some thought we’d be seeing 70 or over for the end of this current week, and that isn’t going to materialize.  So let’s see how this next warmer potential looks by Monday?

The early month heat was fairly impressive.

We still haven’t had a below normal day at MVL.  +6.5F on the month.

Max of 87F during the record torch.

Our average low is 35F.  The coldest it’s gotten all month is 39F.

This has to be near record warm or the record for October so far.

First week of October…mid 80’s John.  That was summers last gasp.

That early September wave was a scorcher…best of the summer season, and right at the end.  But that was still technically summer obviously.

Yikes... Brain freeze... I totally forgot about the early Oct heat!  My focus on weekend ruining rain events has obviously gotten the better of me!!!

Nothing screams late October in far N VT and Jancock more than this 10 day with one low temp in the mid 30’s and the vast majority of lows in the 50’s

Not to speak for him but chestnut trees were wiped out by a blight around that time. They are likely victims of that.

I see a lot of older houses that were constructed with Chestnut, it was the main wood for building back before the blight and great firewood too. I see a lot of old barns made with chestnut; some people have some old Chesnut timbers they salvaged from the old barns.
