I would still lean on the high res meso models but the globals all have the same general idea of a large swath of 2-3" or rain. Wherever the training sets up will see 5-6"+

You can already see the showers almost on the NJ shore so you knew the Euro/eastern models would be shifting west. UKMET is probably furthest east now.

Not in all cases but usually in these potential high end flood events NE NJ and the NYC metro are where the heaviest rainfall amounts and the most serious flooding occur. We'll see if that is the case this time around.

Going on 3 weeks for my son as well. Practice was cancelled yesterday, field was still not dry.

Shall see if his Friday night flag football game gets cancelled, though the field in Massapequa is all turf.

It’ll be a nowcast event to see where the training sets up and the very high end amounts. It should pivot around a little so we all should get a good soaking. But they do happen on LI too, it’s just been since 2014 they’ve been west of here. Aug 2011 and 2014 were the worst drenchers.

Maybe they can all wear bathing suits and swim between the bases. The coaches can put down buoys for the bases.

The HREF output looks more like something we see soon after a tropical system makes landfall. The mean would be significant enough. But that max potential would really be tough for any locales than can even come within a few inches of that.

I've had a few quick shots of drizzle and mist. It seems that the atmosphere is now saturated and primed. Won't take much to set it off methinks.
