For sure, this event is more localized.

Just driving around a little earlier, my area of Beechhurst  rarely has extreme flooding. Today is the only time I remember outside of Ida and Irene that this happened and I've been here for almost 20 years. Actually, there was one other event that I can't recall right now but it's rare around here.

There were predictions for locally 5”+ and flood watches so no, to me this was well forecast. Models did a good job as well pointing this out.

Should this storm be named for our purposes??? Ophelia Reflux?

 

  We need to go back to Tuesday and look at the north edge suppression of PW 1.7” and see if it was shoved south to 35N70W and popped back up this morning to s if LI.  That’s number one item.

LGA ground stopped due to Fuel Farm being flooded. JFK just went into ground stop. Things beginning to buckle.

Yeah despite all the bouncing around they mostly showed where the heaviest would be and the sharp cutoff

My dad is a foreman with Metro North Railroad said the flooding is pretty bad, Hudson, New Haven, and Harlem lines are all shutting down

I have a feeling Riverside Park is going to lose some big trees today. Been saying that for two years. There's lots of erosion. Huge old trees on slopes. They randomly fall on sunny days.

Been trying to look at that as well.  Let me know if you figure it out first.

Here in Union County NJ, we dodged the bullet.  I’ve been flooded out from Irene and IDA came darn close.   This would have been catastrophic for my area had this been 25 miles west.

HRRR’s been all over the place here. Now we’re back to getting soaked in Suffolk. It’s bad for the city/Nassau but please keep the training out that way, thanks.
