  PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
           HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
           low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

This includes the following Flood Prone Roads...
Smith Avenue at Jones Falls and Clipper Mill Road near the Falls
Road Overpass.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* At 1155 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Perry Hall, or near Middle River, moving
  northeast at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

Alert for this woke me up before the thunder would have. No tornado but gusty and plenty of T&L.   2" exactly in the gauge.

I got kinda lucky here. Just to the south of me was in a split zone. Last I checked some nearby gauges showed 0.5” with upwards of 0.75” to the north, though that was only from one wave. The funny thing is even though the last several days were productive here, the larger totals still seem to be generally further south and east. I was in and around Bethesda yesterday and the grass was noticeably greener, though last night’s downpour should help around here.

We *just* got clipped on the very southern end by the last cell that popped in Fairfax County at about 10:00pm. Probably about 0.1" total on the day, which was a little disappointing given all the action just north and west of us.

About 1.75" total for the last week. Not bad, not great, but definitely not bad.
