olafminesaw
First 45% wind prob for RAH since Oct 2019, first Moderate risk for Blacksburg WFO since April 2019. I think this one deserves a thread! 2

kvegas-wx
Never like being the center of attention when it comes to tornado watches and clown maps...unless they are snow maps!

Yeah, for sure. While I love me some severe storms, it's a fine line between a good show and property damage, insurance claims, or worse. My gut is this will be a pretty classic widespread strong/severe wind outbreak, but nothing high end and not much in the way of tornadoes.
wncsnow
The mammatus was more impressive than the line here so far. Nothing that impressive except the rain
LakeNormanStormin
Lots of sun earlier in the day in the Piedmont at Lake Norman. But the atmosphere here at this hour doesn't scream severe weather. Have a feeling the line breaks up as it heads our way. Not enough instability.

kvegas-wx
Tornado warning! Statesville area and north Lake Norman. Winds are brutal across a wide area of Lake Norman. Be safe out there!
LakeNormanStormin
50-60 mph winds here in Cornelius. Crazy lightning and rain. Think I got a still pic of the rope tornado in Mooresville. Will try and post here. Definitely one of the strongest storms this summer in Lake Norman. Wild stuff
calculus1
Very strong storm in Hickory this afternoon. Winds took down a couple of trees in my neighborhood, including one in my yard that went across the street. I’ve got good neighbors, though. We all pitched in together to get it cleaned up. Also, shout out to the City of Hickory crew, who were already here this evening to clean up stuff that we hadn’t gotten to and to haul it all off. Very thankful.
Upstate Tiger
In Myrtle Beach on 6th floor of hotel. Storms right on our doorstep. Winds are making a creepy howling sound. Told the wife I can’t imagine what the wind would sound like in here in a hurricane.
Jmoon
Worst severe storm I've experienced in the last 20 or so years today in sw Rutherford. It was bad. Trees down everywhere. Lots of damage.
eyewall
Sorry I'm late in posting. I chased yesterday and tried for a discrete near the NC/VA line. When coming back to Raleigh it was very hard to get ahead of the line because of its fast forward motion. I did see a funnel looking north from Round Peak, NC into southern VA. Here are some shots: Meso: Elephant Trunk Funnel: Shelf in South Durham (couldn't get any farther ahead of the line) Lightning in Raleigh: 4
