Mrs.J
Sitting out on the deck this morning getting my meal plans done for the next two weeks. Not too bad out, but the deck is shaded in the morning as it faces NW. Brought the catio back out and the cats are happy. 80/73 currently with scattered clouds and sun. Slight wind from the W.

jewell2188
It’s weird, high cloud cover is mostly gone here in culpeper, tons of low level cloud cover but sun it still managing to shine.

Mrs.J
Want to keep the severe thread clear so putting this here for more eyes. How old do you have to be a trained spotter? I am a spotter but my oldest has the same interest in weather that I do. I told her she should take the course and get trained. She goes to school in DC, will be moving back down there in 3 weeks, so splits her time between there and Frederick. I just looked and you can take the course online now if you cannot in person or virtual.

Mrs.J
Just now, yoda said: I believe 18? Thanks! She is 19 so I think I will tell her to take 2 hours out of her day and do the online course. I know we have a few NW DC folks in here. She goes to AU.

George BM
This got lost in the severe tracking but that 12z GFS run for Friday the 18th was total lolism. Temps in the mid 80s+ at the crack of dawn w/ 110+F highs across the region during the afternoon. OBVIOUSLY 18z is more realistic with no Desert SW-like heat.

wxdude64
Currently partly cloudy and 63.7/62.2 here. Feels 'nice' compared to last few days, especially with a 5-10 mph breeze from WNW. Had 0.95 inches of rain from couple rounds of storms yesterday, enough to slide into 2nd place for greatest rainfall for the date behind the 1.46 inches in 2017. TSG
Had some showers come through Albemarle around 11. Real fluffy, high cloud base stuff, felt kind of similar to our "streamers" days after big fronts in the winter
