Same. Nothing here. Just some gusty winds. Hopefully tomorrow will be different.

It’s both comical and expected at this point. There is something about this pattern that just isn’t working here. Maybe better lift tomorrow can overcome the mitigating factors that have been prevalent up to this point.

I can’t figure it out. The central US ridge with a NE trough long wave pattern doesn’t seem to work well for us in the immediate lee of the blue ridge/cacotin mtns, but no problem for i-95 and east.

And the longer our local drought goes on, the drier our BL gets (even with high dews, they could be mixing out too quickly as soon as outflow winds kick up) which temporarily suppresses lift until things move to the east where there’s more moisture fuel from wetter grounds.

May change tomorrow, LWX and SPC have some really strong language about the upcoming threat. Will be tracking, but not in bated breath

We may have spoken the precip into existence, at least in the city of Frederick. There’s a cell moving through and, not surprisingly, it’s on a sw to ne trajectory instead of the standard w-e which requires making it over some of the gnarly rocks of the Blue Ridge. Interesting take on the ground/dews…certainly would help describe the atmospheric memory phenomenon.

Received just shy of 2" from both rounds this evening.  Lawyers Road NW of Vienna near our home flooded again.  Happens anytime we get more than 1.5" in an hour.  However, this time FFCO Police didn't close the road like they normally do.  Was a precarious situation with the road completely under water and low visibility.  Had a white water rescue at the same spot a few years ago when a SUV was washed off the road.
