CAPE
62 and mostly cloudy at 5pm over here in the greater Manchester area. Uncharacteristically chilly/wet July even for here, continuing into early August. 2
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Nicest mid summer weather ever. 70s and breezy! No humidity.
pazzo83
Not remotely our region, but folks need to know what is going on in southern South America right now. Temps pushing 40C in the middle of winter at mid-latitude locations, some with elevation (1500+m). Hard to contemplate. 1

Jrlg1181
What a summer night, cool temps - bright moonlight now with the dissipating high altitude smoke... Spent the last 2 hours on the front porch after work with the cooler air , cheap whiskey , frogs and crickets singing along with classic George Strait music.... nice and peaceful *

Yea, but a blue check on Twitter said that isn't true so maybe both sides are the blame? 1

87storms
It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing heat advisories in FebruaryEven this cooler/drier pattern in the mid-Atlantic seems off. Mother Nature isn’t playing games anymore.I hiked/biked the Watershed and Little Bennett the last couple days, and can confirm the creeks/streams are as low I’ve seen them. We need a legitimate storm system.

Yeah, I think this summer has been the haves vs have nots. Some people had their top 10-20 wettest Julys ever, others have been bone dry. I’m on the drier side with just 2.5” for July after 1” months in June and May. Very dry here.
GramaxRefugee
Annapolis noon walk.....Surprisingly nice out for Aug 3. Temps 70s, DP 60s, mostly cloudy, pleasant breeze.

I don't really expect anything substantial in the precip department on the downsloping side of the fence until we can get rid of this nw flow aloft. Maybe having some low level moisture off the Atlantic the next couple days will improve chances (tbd), but the upper air pattern does look more favorable early next week (another tbd). BlizzardNole
I went on a nice walk just a while ago with the cool temps and cloud cover and had no idea about showers moving in. A decently heavy one is passing through right now -- I came pretty close to getting drenched!

About 3 o clock today with the rain and the stiff breeze it was actually cool out enough to I wish I had a hoodie!!!

wxdude64
Set a new 'cool max' for the date with a 69.1 degree high. Continues the strange pattern/string of cool 8/4's (well, 8/3's, reports are at 7am next day) since 2014. The old record was 73.7 from 2020, then 74.6 from 2018 and 77.1 degrees on both 2016 and 2014. Oh, and the 0.53 rainfall was a nice steady drizzle/light rain that actually did some good!

87storms
The Nam is showing a little line of storms sagging south later which is somewhat believable given the sunshine/humidity factor. More tbd.
