It was/is definitely a "hmm...the sky is not as blue as it should be" kind of morning. Feels spectacular though!
katabatic
48.2 for a low - would have been perfect except for the murky sky.

George BM
A band of relatively thick smoke is currently moving overhead. It looks like it's overcast and the sunlight is very dim and orangish.
MN Transplant
The smoke is causing at least a 30% reduction in incoming solar on my station. Sitting at an amazing 76.5 in the afternoon on August 1st.
BlizzardNole
Just took a nice long walk at mid-day on August 1 at just 79 degrees. That's superb! Glad the smoke is not a ground level. DCA has only three 95-degree days so far (all last week). The closest station to me (3 SSW Damascus) has none and only four 90-degree days. It has been a spectacular Spring and Summer. Lots of caveats for various microclimates, but generally speaking, spectacular.

Rhino16
Beautiful evening. Couldn’t see the sunset through smoke, but maybe it’s cloudy too not sure. Someone has a fire going making a very nice mood outside, reminds me of late September just warmer.

mattie g
Flew out of DCA yesterday morning. Once we got to a few thousand feet the smoke blocked much of the view of the ground below. Probably got to 10-15,000 ft until the sky cleared. Pretty neat how there was an obvious "cap" at which the smoke no longer rose.
