Interesting. It might have been driven by lows, but it certainly wasn't a result of the urban heat island effect.

Congrats PF on the NAM

What a model

It’s scatter shot at this point between adjacent NY and New England for heavy rain threats. The amount of 14-24” water totals since June 1st stretches from Canada to the South Coast of CT.

When it wants to precipitate, there is plenty of upper level assistance. It rains hard. In short duration time spans.

Everything aloft has been slightly further east than July, the flooder was more towards the coast in this past event.

This is very true here-every event is a heavy downpour dropping copious amts of rain...I'm sure later today will be no exception.

Another day another deluge.

"2023 .SYNOPSIS... Quiet first half of the day will be followed by another heavy rainfall/thunderstorm and isolated tornado threat this evening into early Friday. Drier and more seasonable for Friday into early Saturday. It will be a very active weather pattern this weekend into next week. Scattered, but strong, thunderstorms are possible both Saturday and Sunday. After a brief break Monday, more showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rainfall, are expected Monday night and Tuesday.

So far for the first part of Mehgust:

BOS  -1.7

BDL.  -2.4

PVD  -3.1

ORH* -0.4

The old chart verified pretty well    The rest of the month should bring those up

Above normal later this month sure-big heat?  I think that ship sailed with the 7/29 cold front...
