One thing I like about Tauntonblizzard, people will complain and complain about his negativity directly to him, but he never really seems to get the slightest bit of Angst or defensiveness , usually just humor or nothing

Everyone has their quirks. You have milfs, dit has dilfs and T-blizz has drought. It's what makes the world go round.

It’s just different. The road from Rt. 4 to the Bear mountain parking lot has been closed since 7/7/23.

What’s the prognosis on that reopening?

I think there’s probably lots of microcosms in Vermont, that are still reeling from water damage but most people outside of those areas have forgotten about it.

Downtown Montpelier tonight.
The first image is of the Pavilion building. The governor, state treasurer and attorney general have their offices in it. The second image is how high the water got on State St. looks like it was 5’-6’ above street level. The last picture is the inside of the Aubuchon Hardware store. Completely gutted.

Big day. Morning severe (tree hit by lightning across street from me) and my wife at Northeastern University recording quarters raining down in the late day severe.

I'm pretty sure the big hail event was 8/4/14

Dews

Looks like a short dew up on Tuesday followed by more coc.

Drying out on Wednesday with weak surface high pressure and mid-

level ridging. Winds aloft are northwest, bringing a refreshing

airmass to the region, including lower dewpoints. 850mb temperatures

are +12C and +14C while highs are generally 79F to 83F, dewpoints

fall to the upper-50s to low-60s. Northwest flow does mix down to

the surface 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH.

One day dew down tomorrow. Then maybe again Wednesday. After that we sauna.

From late April thru July 2, nearly every event exceeded the forecasts.  Since then, it's gone just the opposite, like yesterday's 0.16" after a 1/2-1" forecast.  We're currently averaging about 0.3"/week.  Water table remains high (Sandy River flow at 75th percentile) but the top 12" is drying out.
