CheeselandSkies
Entire region getting rocked and we haven't even seen a flicker of lightning in Madison yet...looks like the HRRR was kinda right. That northern complex should at least clip us, though.

mjwise
SPC mesoanalysis is really off the charts in northern illinois area. 6.5kJ/kg SBCAPE, 5kJ/kg MLCAPE, LI -12, with swath of 2.1 inch PWAT aligned parallel with the convection. The only thing that could be a little stronger is shear. It's rare when you get a high end wind and potential high end flooding event out of the same complex.

kevlon62
Seems like lake breeze boundary remnants interacting with that WAA wing on the IL northern tier now. Watching action moving northeast a bit..

Natester
Lost power here at around 8:20 PM. Worst of the winds just missed us to the north. There were winds up to 90 mph in Hiawatha. Houses across the street have power. Hopefully we'll get our power back soon.
cyclone77
55 MPH quality gust front. Enough to be entertaining and don't have to worry about a massive cleanup. Heavy rains arriving now. Temp has crashed over 20 degrees.

madwx
Estimating winds of about 60 mph here. Small branches and lots of leaves here. First crazy lightning show of the summer. Going to have about 1.4” inches when it’s all said and done. Can tell we’re coming out of the drought. Low spots in my backyard have standing water

michaelmantis
Line in N IL just started by me and its a monsoon rain. This thing is no joke and if it doesn't move fast there is for sure going to be flooding north of I-88.
