Winooski River at Montpelier crest upgraded to 22.7 feet about 3 feet higher than the midday forecast.

Thats also 3 feet higher than the Irene crest at #2 all time, record is the 1927 flood at 27 feet.

This is going to be rough tonight for those communities along the Winooski… Montpelier, Waterbury, Richmond, etc.

Up to 6.05". Road into center of town was getting closed off as I was heading back home. DOT guy (or whatever authority, not sure) had just set out cones but was like, yeah, you can try it, good luck! About a foot of water on the road from the river coming over. Made it through with a 3/4 ton pickup, don't recommend anyone do that though.

Appreciate the updates.  I have family in Henniker, nice to have a(nother) poster from that area.

The general tenor of photos and observations coming out of Vermont in this event are definitely on the higher end of the scale for weather impacts.

People are going to remember this one.  Like the state remembers Irene.

The model progs were largely correct depicting higher end event, especially from 48 hours out.

It’s alright to remember as long as we don’t have any more “brave little state” songs.

Office is thankfully shut today as every road I would take to possibly take to get into Hyde Park is closed or blocked by other closed roads.  We lost power beginning around 8:30.  It looks like the waters in our back yard have receded.  I no longer have a massive collection of waterfalls tearing through my raised beds.  It will take a while for the big rivers to recede.

Closest /Davis went offline with the power outage.  At the time it had 4.30 on the day and 5.35 for the event.  Next closest station had .15 after the power went out.

Sorry for all your hassles. Hope power comes back quickly.
