The activity also started pretty early in the day so it was obviously NW areas would get it first. I don't think the HPC would have most areas in a moderate risk for excessive rainfall (including portions of the NYC metro) if the activity wasn't expected to move further east with time.

Big Jims Videos
Not quite a perfect beach day but it definitely feels juiced out here at the Point Beach and water temps feel 10 degrees warmer than a week ago. Inland is gonna be in for a rough go of it. It's a bit out of area but the Blue Route corridor in Philly burbs is taking one on the chin today. 4-5 inches already and training. gravitylover
Numbers around my hill are ranging from 2.4>3.6 and another very heavy shower just moved in. gravitylover
The difference in amounts here shows exactly where the front is hung up. Within a mile to my west there's 1" more and 2 miles west is 2" more than 2 miles east of me. Just the difference from the NW side of the hill to the SE is over an inch. Pretty cool. Models did very well in forecasting most of the activity over the same general area days ago. Very persistent wet pattern with some activity hitting eastern areas every now and then
