It would do well for many to read Doctor Fields ‘In Memoriam’. The sentence, to me, that defines him is; “Field matched wits with the popular comedian, somehow managing to maintain his dignity and air of authority”. This was referring to his appearances on the Johnny Carson show, as Dr Field was often a good natured target of Mr Carson. I can never forget Mr. Carson’s saying Dr Frank Field, our crack NBC meteorologist has predicted lava erupting from the top of the Empire State Building. Well done Doctor Field, well done.
