TSSN+
Here’s the stream/creek by my house. Usually fully running. Bone dry.
North Balti Zen
got a very localized pop-up happening - been ripping rain for about 15 minutes at my home. Much appreciated and needed.
WEATHER53
It rained so hard for 5-7 minutes in that ore dawn storm that when it lightning I could not hear the thunder but the house shook. One time. Never had that happen
Jrlg1181
Received right at 0.40 for the past 24 hours, monthly total for my back yard stands at 2.37.... One of the lower totals locally... But no issue everything is green and growing nicely thanks to the end of June cutoff low and generally no heatwaves....
WxUSAF
Most guidance brings in a midwestern MCS to the area in the overnight hours. Question is how strong is remains when it gets here, well after daytime heating and with today not a particularly hot/humid one.
mappy
.42" yesterday after some heavier showers/few rumbles of thunder rolled through after 9pm last night.
BlizzardNole
30-day rainfall map really shows the rain hole in our severe drought region. So another overnight disturbance coming? OK southern MD to eastern shore folks enjoy your 2-4 inches. We'll be watering tomorrow morning

Not sure if we are watching the same area... but SPC upgraded parts of the Ohio Valley to a ENH risk for large hail and damaging winds... and SLGT was moved further east into PA

87storms
I’m expecting a broken line of light showers that lasts 15 minutes to cross the Blue Ridge during the overnight period. I’ll take an actual thunderstorm, though.
yoda
12z NAM Nest and 15z RAP favor MD and PA for whatever is left of the MCS/line... comes in between 11pm and 4am or so looks like

Still looks a broken mess though.

Looks like it mostly skips over the recently constructed rain shield around downtown Frederick and reorganizes in time for points east. 1
yoda
16z HRRR is much more stormy for the region starting around midnight and continuing through sunrise 3

Eskimo Joe
18z HRRR develops a nice MCS with a respectable cold pool and blows it through the region late tonight. Would at lesat be a nice bit of rain.

Yeah would love to see some rain here in Frederick, with some thunder too. We've really been shorted so far this summer.

The only thing that’s been an improvement lately (if you like an increased chance of storms and dislike wildfire smoke) is that it’s been more humid. Today has actually felt like a classic summer day.

Yea, this is the polar opposite of summer 2021 when I first moved to Frederick and had to bail on a couple hikes at Gambrill because I kept getting stormed on.Region-wide…it’s definitely a polar opposite of 2018 when Great Falls was bustling.
