midatlanticweather Posted July 4, 2023 Share Posted July 4, 2023 Now that was a rain event! 1.13 inches between 9 and 10 pm. Most rain we have had in a long while. Great light show as well. Amazingly I went to the Clarke County Fair grounds and they had a small shower earlier and then the big rains missed them by a mile or less! Great show! Very cool.. lots of lightning further east back at home so I missed the biggest storm event of the summer so far! Best rains consistently have been to my N&E for the last few rounds, with last Friday's "tornado warning" storm possibly the lone exception. The last two days were probably the last chance for a very long time for rain here so the extreme Drought of '23 rolls on. All of the 1.5 or so I got in June was nickels and dimes, no more than about 0.3 at a time. I can't remember the last time we got a downpour here - I have yet to see one thunderstorm.
