July has arrived ... the Meteorologically defined mid summer month

NWS from last night. Generally, I think they do a top-notch job. This wasn't one of their best.  Pretty sure today fits the definition of all day wash out.

"

The upper level trough advances slightly to the east, along
with an associated surface low...The best chance for showers looks
to be across central and western Massachusetts due to the extra
forcing from the upper level trough. Severe weather will likely
not be an issue tomorrow with instability being rather meager...off
and on showers, its not looking like an all-day washout"

Indicative of this failure of a summer that we can't even manage getting a warm frontal passage in July. NYC metro and SW CT are where it's at today, true summer conditions there.

Working on a new pool deck, shoveling stone atm....unreal feeling out there. 82/77 right now, not use to this weather yet

Meanwhile this area is almost the coldest spot in the country right now minus some resolute towns along Lake Superior.

So all last night and then most of today there’s been these standing thunderstorms on the north slope of the Adirondacks.

I wish I could loop a radar past 12 hours or so.  It’s just been sitting there in N.NY in the same area since last evening.

Radar estimates are now in the 8-10” range and they just keep gushing water.

Congrats on 2”…pushing 1” here.

My davis may hit 3". I have a stratus to check when it's done. Sometimes the Davis seems to go a little wild in heavy rates. It's usually fairly close in lighter rains
