Those are the Patriot Variety which is an early and large blueberry, I have 6 plants, 2-Patriots, 2-Chandlers and 2-Elliot's, The Patriots are early, Chandler is mid and the Elliot's are a late smaller variety, This is one of the Elliot's.

We started with 3 Patriots and 2 Northlands, added 2 more Northlands and 3 Bluecrops a few years later.  These more recent additions are lagging badly in both growth and production.  Looks like a moderate crop on the big 5 but none have begun to color - above norm temps but the lack of sun being the bigger factor.

I had a couple of bushes take a hit with that late freeze this year that were full last year.

we put some patriots in years ago in our flower beds with mulch and we almost never get any berries. we were told to put some pine wood chips around them to decrease the soil pH, but that didn't seem to work. Apparently, other than grass we can't get fruit to grow either.

Peat moss and i use these two yearly below to get the soil more acidic, Also i sacrificed a couple years of berries to by plucking off the blossoms to increase the yield.

The Patriots are large and delicious. We have two plus two Northland. The strawberries have suffered this year though. Too much rain, and not enough sun to get them going.

My strawberries are like yours, 10 days or so of sunshine in 7 weeks is not going to cut it, I have one in a pot that has no blossoms, My other one that's in a 35 gal container has yielded some small fruit but nothing special.

The only fruit I got came from the flower buds that were there when the were delivered.

Even on a "dry" day like today, it looks like my house will get clipped by this rogue isolated shower.

That's what happened with the potted one to me too, A couple blossoms and a couple berries that the birds got too before me,  Looks like i just missed a rogue one here too as it got dark real quick and popped SE going into Lisbon.

They were the band I always wanted to see live when I was young but never was able.

My only complaint about current country music that I run across on the radio is the amount of autotuning is odd to me for that genre in particular.

Ever see Mission of Burma?  I got to hang with guitarist Roger Miller a few times about 15 years ago when my band rehearsed at the Sound Museum in Brighton MA.  He actually listened to our demos and albums and gave us advice, really good dude and a legend

I have not had any chipmunks get in there as of yet.

I have a mulberry bush and the berries turn almost all at once, if I don't get out there to pick the birds clean house. It must be chipmunks or birds that clean them up off the ground. I'm excited, I have apples for the first time this year, hopefully the deer don't beat me to them.

Looked again and found a few blues, almost all on the Northlands.  Also found the fastest growing jewelweed I've ever encountered.  Two weeks ago, they were a foot tall or less, but some were near 6 ft and many in the 4-5' class, and many many hundreds.  Still some in the patch but the ones I pulled (no weed pulls easier, fortunately) pretty much filled the 6' by 6' cedar log compost area.  Those plants must be 95%+ water, and surely love this warm season's tropical rainforest wx.  They will quickly break down and make room for other compost.

I missed them.  They finished up (at least their original run) before I got old enough to go to shows.

Had a max of 78F today with dews as low as 52F.

No smoke, dews in low/mid 50s and today was the best, crisp visibility in what feels like weeks.  It’s been a while since I’ve seen MWN from Mansfield and today it was there.

One day Chamber of Commerce to remind us it’s still there.

Good luck. The deer around my place are like goats on steroids.

From all the NE flooding.

*LONG ISLAND SOUND DEBRIS FIELD***

Attention all mariners in the Long Island Sound area. The National
Weather Service in coordination with the United States Coast
Guard have received reports of a large debris field across Long
Island Sound, caused by recent flooding across New England. This
will create some hazards for boaters, swimmers, and watercraft in
the affected area.

The debris vary from trees, logs, coolers, and docks and may not be
easily visible. Boaters should exercise caution and be mindful of
the debris. We encourage everyone to make responsible decisions
when engaging in water activities near the Connecticut River and
Long Island Sound.

The amount of wildlife out in the open lately has me wondering if all the rain has produced a bumper crop of food for the animals on the ski trails. The wild grasses, flowers, seeds, and berries are thriving and the wildlife seems to be gorging themselves daily out on the ski trails.

Today I saw another bear and a couple fawns eating.

Check this out. A fisher cat in my friend’s yard in Essex Jct. These things are nocturnal. It actually came up on his front porch while he was at the screen door. Didn’t faze it at all. I wondered if it might be rabid.
