Clear, crisp and cool morning.  Hint of September in the air.  Morning low here was 56 degrees.  Really nice for the closing days of July.  Just quick shower last evening.  Gusty wind for a few minutes but only .06" rainfall.

But I guess if your criteria isn't top Top 2-3 then sure it wasn't that hot.

At XMACIS2. The departures were largely driven by so many top 5 average warm minimum monthly temperatures around the region with the near to record high dew points. So the perception by some was that it wasn’t that hot of a month since there were no 100s and the 90 day count wasn’t as high as some recent years.

High for the day yesterday was 92 here.

Had 0.01" of rain for the day yesterday.

71 / 54 and quite lovely out.  A  reprieve from the humidity and heat the next 5 days with dry, near or below normal temps  low / mid 80s and 60s (some 50s) at night.  Tough into the NE with N/NW flow with Ridge re popping in TX/OK similar to late June/early this month.  By Wed (8/3) into Thu (8/4) flow is coming around more S/SW with a return to more humid (not bad bad as recent yet). Warmer 8/4 - 8/6, before next front comes through.

Beyond into the second week the western Atlantic ridge is building west and forcing trough back towards the GL, with more warm / humid flow.  Strong heat remains into the south/ Gulf.  Heights look to come up towards the end of the second week and overall warm to hot at times with more frewuent storms potential.

All the upper 80s days at the local warm spots become low 90s when you factor in the high dew points pushing the heat index into the low 90s for the monthly daily high temperature average. Even JFK gets closer to 90 when you factor in the record high dew points.

Yeah, by a few degrees. Both were at record levels this month over 110°. Not a fun place to spend the summer.

Yes not really a pleasant place to live, at least for me. It is a desert and the longevity of the heat and lack of rain just  not for me.
