Can mark a fail here again. Heaviest rains went north and storms south. .75 which I'll take though.

Guess this is payback for the epic Les event here in November..

Ma' nature always seems to remember.  Probably why Minneapolis is drying out so much lately.

Just did a quick turn around trip from southern MI to southern MN and back.  Saw some great storms (not the reason I did the trip but definitely a bonus).

Really enjoyed the La Cross WI and Dakota MN area.  Very beautiful area.  I could see myself move there (can't right now but would definitely consider it).

Worst for me the Chicago area.  Traffic, accidents, congestion and too many buildings for me.:yikes:  So glad there are people who like it that way!!  Next time I am going to pony up and pay for the ferry across Lake MI.  I will plan to avoid driving near Chicago again!!!  Keep in mind I don't go to Detroit either.  Closest I get is Novi for work.

below 40 is just as bad as above 100.

How about we lock you outside with no access to AC or heating for a few days and see which is more survivable.  I'll pick 40 every single time if it's not wet.  Wetness complicates the situation slightly as choosing between hypothermia and dehydration / heat stroke is a tough one, but you can at least dress for cold and wet.

My honest criteria is more complicated.  The worst is really anything between 32 and 50.  If it were up to me I'd skip the months with average temperatures in that range.    I'll maybe appreciate a sunny day in the upper 40s in late February or early March if the snow is all melted anyways.

i like it better when I can smell the smoke. Makes me feel like I'm camping on those early mornings when you can still smell the night befores campfire.

Not really. The couple of days in late June it was thick enough for me to smell on the ground here it smelled like burnt plastic, not like a campfire at all.
