I remember mead from stuff I read in college. What does it taste like? It is wine, isn't it? As I recall, the old beers were very low alcohol because people drank them a lot due to water so bad. Does mead pack any kind of punch?

I can't believe I am talking about mead!

Honey based wine/beer hybrid and can have similar abv to grape based wine even to the level of port and sherry for some big dog meads.

Going to need something to "pop" over me otherwise the split is in.  I bet if you look at meso maps there is an area devoid of lift in the precip headed toward me but....some suites fire up cells around here between 10 and 1 so will wait until tomorrow am and may be pleasantly surprised.

These were around 8% AVB. Kinda a cross between wine and cider.

Rain just started at hike.  Looks like a huge bust for anyone HBG south.

2:59a: We seem to be done for now. I checked two weather stations on Williamsport. They showed totals of just about an inch since Saturday night. Weather Service says Montoursville Airport five miles away got 3.29 in last six hours. It seems like many other nearby places got lots more than we did. I couldn't figure out earlier why we were getting all these warnings and alerts when we were getting rain but nothing torrential and the curtains didn't move so little wind.

There is a Flood Warning until 7:30a. I am glad we got some rain but happy we didn't get too much at once.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Sullivan and Union.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 136 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms.
Flooding is ongoing in portions of the warned area. Between 3
and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.

If at first it does not succeed, try, try again.

In East Nantmeal we have picked up 1.06" of rain since yesterday with 0.61" falling so far today. It looks like some areas in eastern parts of Chester County have already picked up nearly 3" of rain. More storms are possible through early PM before lesser chances later today. Tomorrow looks to be pretty hot with temps reaching the upper 80's before somewhat cooler for the rest of the week.
Records for today: High Temp 100 (1988) Low 46 (1929) / Rain 2.02" (1912)image.png.f7fb5fef65260ec044831fd5a029b907.png
