TheDreamTraveler
71 DP here so it feels like 100 already despite being 92 degrees already. If it stays that high some of us might be seeing heat indexes between 105-

Are they sure there's no missing data in that Sarasota reading? That seems absurdly dry for Florida.

That seems absurdly dry for Florida.I believe the whole "normal" trade winds have been off the whole summer. It's one of the reasons extreme heat has built like it has, but another consequence is the precipitation distribution. Ft Lauderdale is so high due to their freak all time record 20"+ of rain in one daySent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
Jns2183
I think the eruption last summer throwing so much water vapor high into the atmosphere is having an outsized effect lately and it will be shown in papers published in next couple yearsSent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Storm Clouds
NWS in their forecast discussion talk about the potential for a complex to drop out of the Great Lakes and impact the area later tonight. Anyone have any more information about that possibility?

They have added about 1" in July so are in the low 12" range for the year at the moment. They had two months where they received less than .2 the entire month. There have been Drought headlines for SW Florida much of the year.

CarlislePaWx
At 3:11pm I have just hit my high of the day so far at 95.0 degrees. My dew point is 76.8 degrees producing a heat index of 110! Easily in excessive heat warning territory. I can't wait for early next week when we go back to below normal with low 80's and lows in the 50's!

Storm Clouds
Severe thunderstorm watch just issued to our south…interesting not for us with those multiple storms now moving into western LSV areas. Probably focused on that line in western MD as it moves east. Unfortunately that looks to stay south of the border lol…
