Color me impressed with how dark it just got ahead of the main line. Street and patio lights all popped on. Looked like a thunderstorm in civil twilight and it was lunchtime.

I had to turn my lights on.  Haven't seen it that dark at noon in a long time.

less than .5 in two days of t-showers in Lehigh County.  No drought buster thats for sure. The creek levels are still falling as any rainfall the last five days has only helped green some lawns and getting the corn/soybeans out of the ground. Lucky the temps are cooler otherwise we would be in a drought emergency. Lets hope for more showers to keep the gardens and crops growing but for the streams, it looks like a piss poor prognosis right now as the groundwater tables are not being recharged to keep base flows established. The only water for many streams are from the stormwater pipes flushing all the crap from the roads into a dry stream bed.  NOT A GOOD SITUATION.

this mornings forecast has taken rain out of the forecast for the next five days.  Dry begats dry pattern. Back to watering the gardens on Monday.  The streams in our area will begin to dry up, even in the karst areas. . A drought warning/emergency is coming.

3" on average for the week is a decent drink, normal for June total is what 4"? The rare dry blocking pattern is done there is growing support the last week of June will be wet.

Our chilly June continues as 14 of our first 17 days have been below normal. Today looks like a near normal high of 80 degrees with slightly above temps tomorrow. But back below normal for much of the rest of the upcoming work week. Rain chances look slim with only a chance on Tuesday.
Records for today: High 97 (1957) / Low 44 (1986) / Rain 2.70" (2013)

Morning lows today were not too far from normal (near 60) so with highs today reaching the mid-80's today could be our first above normal temperature day in 8 days. How chilly has this spring been? Well since a pattern change on April 24th a whopping 75% of days or 42 of the last 56 days have averaged below normal! In looking ahead after today we slip back to below normal for the remainder of this week. In fact I can see no sustained above normal temps at least through the first week of July. It is likely we will finish with our 2nd straight below normal month - the first back to back months with below normal temps since last September and October. Rain chances look to increase by later this week with the best chance coming on Saturday.
Records for today: High 96 (1905) / Low 42 (1956) / Rain 1.84" (1996)
