ChescoWx
Many spots across the county saw temps in the mid-80's yesterday - here in East Nantmeal we could do no better than the low 80's. Today many spots will take a run at their first 90 degree day of the season. Some of the higher ridge top locations will likely stay in the upper 80's. A strong cold front will be dropping through the area from North to South during the evening. There is a 40% chance of showers. It looks to be hit and miss type showers but let's hope some of us get under a shower or 2 to help cut into the current rain deficit which has grown to almost 7 inches through today. Much cooler weather tomorrow with some spots not escaping the 60's. The cooler than normal weather should continue for at least the next week. Records for today: High 95 (1895) / Low 37 (1927) / Rain 3.11" (1946)

CoolHandMike
Passing shower knocked the temp down from 98 to 77 in a matter of minutes. IT's climbing back up now though. .06" precip in the bucket at least!

Hurricane Agnes
Glad to see some of you up north cashing in on the pop-ups. They appear to be moving from NE -> SW. I also noticed that a seabreeze front has been steadily moving from E-> W and is almost at the Delaware River. I did hit 95 for a high today but it clouded over and is still generally cloudy with some sun shining through it, and a temp earlier down to 88, but now ticked up a notch to 89, with dp 59. I also saw that the first TS of the season has arrived - Arlene, which is down in the Gulf but drifting south.

Made it to 93F here, currently 86. No rain drops though.

I was close yesterday but it was really only really warm from like 3-7. Once the sun went down, it really cooled off quick. Needed a light blanket overnight with the windows open. started getting uncomfortable around 11 today though. I know I drive my girlfriend crazy with how I use it but I just feel like it isn’t worth the power use unless it’s going to stay on for 3+ days. She’s always of the mind of if it’s hot just turn the damn thing on

She’s always of the mind of if it’s hot just turn the damn thing on I turned mine on about 1 pm yesterday and decided to leave it on overnight so I can keep the bricks cool for when the the sun started blazing today. I have actually crept back up to 90 once the clouds moved on, with dp still 60. Looks like Paul might get some from a couple pop-ups headed that way. I think it's because we're more distant from that sweet, sweet oceanic moderation. Higher highs and lower lows. Also we've got some hills around which, in certain circumstances, can almost create a sort of "bowl", not to mention the heat island effect from the city itself. I think the last two contribute to why rain storms so frequently part ways around us. It happens way too often for it to be pure chance.

Albedoman
Nada here in sw lehigh county. The lawns literally baked in the 95+ degree heat today. some are so crisp that walking on them will actually destroy the lawn. well , as i predicted, the last two days in the local media has been upping their game on discussing the drought conditions. The Little Leigh Creek , if it runs dry, will be devastating as this is the main source of water for hundreds of thousands of people and businesses. The stream flow is less than a foot in my backyard. https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/pennsylvania/water-levels-at-waterways-in-lehigh-valley-low-amid-warm-and-dry-conditions/article_129be86c-017f-11ee-8640-0f0191b69f2f.html#tncms-source=More-from-newsroom-(right-column)
Chief83
Worcester, PA.. got up to 96 today. No rain here. Some rumbles of thunder while the storms passed to our east and south. Lightning counter shows 5 strikes (supposedly in a 20 mile radius) 3 hours ago. Lawns are really starting to show it. Only .15 here the whole month of May. There was some rain tonight (.07 and another station with .05) not too far to the east of my location - maybe 3 miles away.

Hurricane Agnes
Bottomed out at 66 this morning with bright sunshine, but that has now faded behind a deck of clouds. The 0.01" reported yesterday (which was barely enough to wet a few sidewalk blocks) was it. Currently overcast, breezy, and 72 with a dp of 62, and you can definitely feel the humidity.
