CAPE
Looks like some chances here and there over the next week for parts of the region, but probably not a widespread significant event. There will be haves and have nots. It's that time of year though.
BlizzardNole
It was frustrating seeing Gaithersburg just 10 miles away getting a heavy shower but that's the way it goes here. Cool start today at 53

CAPE
The 6z GFS depiction early next week would work for some decent and more widespread rain across the area. Instead of the vorticity lobes passing to our north and focusing the forcing in PA and northward, some upper level energy digs just to our south and puts our area in a better spot for precip.

mattie g
Some very light rain with a distant rumble of thunder or two that delayed our swim meet last night. And damn...it was chilly by the time it finished (at like 9:40 pm)!

Paleocene
Beautiful day, but getting crispy here in metropolitan Silver Spring. Rain yesterday basically got the grass wet. Does anyone have a replacement link for this mesonet site? I used to go here to check local precip totals. https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php?zoom=11&extents=38.873459,-77.525547,39.299833,-76.989963&density=1&precip=1&value=P24I

87storms
I endorse the comments regarding the beautiful weather today. It’s milder with a little less wind than I expected…and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.

With the pattern next week, we are likely looking at a negative May and June departure. Very refreshing. Hopefully we can keep that rolling and have a 2004-like summer.

87storms
I get why people would want cooler weather in the summer, but it seems to involve a drier pattern, at least so far. We need higher PWATS and afternoon storms. This nickel and dime stuff is only going to take us so far. I personally would like to see a return to a more normal summer pattern. I don't even think I've had a single thunderstorm yet this year...certainly not a flush hit.
