Gonna be a brutal year for acorns and those of that live in Oak forests. Already hundreds if not thousands of smaller ones down everywhere . Last year we didn’t have 1.

You would love the gypsies in parts of Concord. Armies of them just marching across parking lots taking down every oak leaf in their path.

Yes! I love to hear it. They munch. They’ll be back next year heavy. The 3rd year you’ll see less , but they’ll still be there. Year 4 they gone until the next Stein drought . You’ll see many of those Oaks die

Keep an eye out for a new oak pest. Just discovered it this week. Oak leaf tier. Sometimes spelled as leaftier.  If you notice a bunch of very small moths near where the oaks had been decimated by the gypsies it's likely them. They can actually be worse than gypsies.

Yup…right up close to exit 19. I’ve seen a couple here and there in the yard, but no oak defoliation yet.

Let me know if you spot any leaf tiers. DIT and Ginx may notice them as well since they were hard hit. They're coming to finish the job.

The colorful chart makes it look worse than it is. I mean Providence 0.1 less than average lolz...

Honestly we are sort of at the point where Stein is just any below precip at all.  It started as like legit drought and now if you are like a 20-minute thunderstorm below average in a month you are Stein/drought.

The fireworks at the ski area on the 3rd and town on the 4th are both legit displays.  The Moscow village parade in Stowe and then the Stowe Village parade both good times.  It’ll be a busy and packed town but the vibe is often awesome.

Bet the bears and other wildlife populations love it.
