It’s been dry but at least not baking hot. And the smoke days have limited the sun too. I’ll water the garden plants but let the lawn go. Next winter’s two inch snowfall will look like a foot.

Flash flooding south of Roanoke and significant flash flooding ongoing around Bluefield WVa. More heavier showers and storms appear to be heading for the Bluefield area. Scanner is and has been busy with flooded homes, road closures and so forth.

It has absolutely zero intention of raining in Frederick. Clouds are a scattered mess with the sun peeking through as I type this on my balcony. Looks like another beautiful day on tap.

No rain here for the last 8 days, and what fell then wasn't very much. Letting the grass grow tall. Just mowed it to 4", and it still looks about as good as it can for here. If the dryness continues I probably won't bother watering it as it always goes to shit anyway with the high sun and heat in late June and July.

Finally got some much needed rain here.....-  0.57 since last night - 0.91 for the month and finally cracked the 10 inch mark for the year - 10.55

About 0.11-0.12 has fallen here since 7 am, to go with the 0.35 from 7 am report. JUST 50 or so miles to my south 5-6 inch amounts being reported and FFW's up in a line from Roanoke to Bluefield WV!

There must be some good amounts from AA County as showers have been coming in from the Bay all afternoon.  No rain here but that's OK.  Like another poster said, I'll let the grass go and water the garden beds.

As expected, no rain around downtown Frederick.  Very pleasant temps all weekend.  Clouds are breaking up on satellite with that ULL starting to spin itself out...looks like a nice week ahead with a continued Central Plains-like weather pattern.
