It feels like we've been stuck in a Midwest type of a pattern for a while now.  We're not just missing out on storms, it really hasn't even been too humid all season.  Breezy/mild/dry...that's been the theme since at least the Fall.  It also hasn't been that exciting weather-wise since 2021 aside from a couple of noteworthy events.  Long story short, I'm ready for El Nino.

This will be the last of the smoky haze for a bit.

Definitely the haziest May that I can remember... at least when it comes to smoke being aloft in the atmosphere.

It’s been incredibly hazy up here too. To me it’s almost a cloudy day. I miss blue sky.

I guess I'm not missing any exciting weather back home while down in the Outer Banks.

Hazard of doing a pre-Memorial Day trek down here I guess - it's WINDY and pretty chilly. Managed to get one good beach day in so far this week.

I have never had to water so much. It's not just the no rain it's also that the air is so dry - my flowers, bushes, and early attempts at vegetables are in dirt and soil that just dries out so fast.  Been watering morning and night from a watering can like I am from the 1940s.

Not sure what models y'all are looking at with talk of a 'washout' this weekend. Probably more clouds than actual rain for the majority of the region. Looks like a quarter inch or less for most, and probably not until late Sunday into Monday. The MD/DE beaches don't look particularly wet either.

Yup. Euro/EPS has inched northward in the last few cycles but still largely south of DC until maybe Monday.

I ordered a new sprinkler and it’s arriving tomorrow. Going to be put to immediate work. The sunny/dry spot in my yard is already getting crispy.

I just deployed sprinklers in my yard too. Used up the 2x 200gal rain barrels last week. Not looking great for the next couple weeks either.
