Thankfully the cold will be lifting out in time for our weekend in BTV for the UVM commencement.  Hopefully the rain stays away Sunday.

She’s graduating already? Seems like it was just last year you were taking her up for her first year!

She actually finished in December doing the entire curriculum in 3 years thanks to some busy summers and heavy academic loads.   After having her when I was 52 I’m thankful that we survived in good health to this day!  Hope I didn’t jinx it-still have to make it through the week.

Congrats that’s impressive.   BTV AFD has been mentioning commencement weather so they are watching.

Thats a super fun vibe of a weekend in BTV… and also spills out here to Stowe.  A lot of families stay around here, town will be busy.

Heading into next weekend, our H5 pattern transitions into a
longwave trough, which favors a return to more unsettled weather.
While we are still a week away, commencement activities next weekend
might be looking at some wet weather. Stay tuned.

MVL ASOS has been sitting 53-57F past 3 hours with NW gusts over 20mph…

But this sun angle really makes it feel ok. Cold air mass to do full sun and struggle mid-50s in the valley… but shorts and fleece pullover feels real comfortable.

In October we are lighting wood fires and bundled up at breezy 55/28.

He is digging in. Setting the stage for a long, dry hot summer until cane in Sept

Next Weekend...

Shortwave energy will approach from the west next weekend...but
guidance differs considerably on timing and location of it.
Perhaps a period of showers will be possible sometime during the
weekend...but that remains uncertain.

Fire in the stove, light frost earlier here, possibly more mid-week.  Nothing special - median date for last frost is 5/24.

33° for the low here. The sun hits early though and by the time I got out of bed at 7:30, I didn’t see any frost. Down to 42° already.

Looks like summer starting up in earnest towards the mid to late part of next week.  Just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend

Sounds good. If I planted a garden I would be nervous about heavy frost Thursday morning.
