Just spectacular COC days this week. Love this time of year when vegetation is emerging but doesn't have that deep summer green instead it's a almost fall like look. Little late for full leaf out but getting there

I like the lime green look to the emerging foliage along with the flowers on the fruit trees. This next week is one of my favorite times of the year when the weather cooperates.

Man Allegra ftw.  Emerging leaf out is nice but without Allegra I’d be indoors.   Should be over in another week or 2.   We’re upgrading our outdoor furniture-looking forward to long summer twilight and hopefully the dry wx means easier bug control.   Torches and fire pit should help.

Spring pastels aren't as spectacular as fall colors but have their own special beauty.
First black fly bite this afternoon after 3-4 days of their checking out the menu.  That's about 5-7 days ahead of average here.  Phenology was 10-14 days ahead in mid-April but 3 cutoffs chopped that in half.  While not liking the process, I'm glad things slowed down, as it lowers the chances of a killer late frost.  Also fetched a deer tick while working within arm's reach of the house today - the little demons love me.  
Expecting Stein in June, as soon as I put in the veggie garden.

Alberta is literally all on fire. And then we have a glacier in the Sierra . WTF?

If I were you and thank god I’m not, I’d sit out any fire/ smoke conversations for awhile.

Anyways it took me 0.01 seconds and Google to find out how unusual wildfires during May in Alberta are and the answer is….not at all unusual. Shocker.
