Yep that a decent shot of rain, of course it came over the house while I was trying to dig up a fence post and work on a raised bed lol. Blueberries go in the ground tomorrow if the farm store has how many I want to buy.

400 PM EDT Tue May 16 2023

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Northern North Carolina
Northeast Tennessee
Southern Virginia
Extreme Southern West Virginia

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 400 PM until
1000 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Isolated discrete cells will pose a risk for severe gusts
and hail late this afternoon. By this evening, a bowing line of
storms is expected to spread east across the watch area, posing a
risk for damaging wind swaths.

So far this pattern has reminded me of the spring and summer of 2013. A lot of cloudy gray rainy wedged in days that summer that kept it cooler that year.  We are well overdue for a below normal summer in the temperature department.

Yeah and by the looks of it we are going to stay kind of cloudy and rainy with comfortable temps.

Even though my location has done pretty well with rain, many other areas near the Blue Ridge have not and most models show no rain after tomorrow for a week at least. Water levels are still at or below average on the majority of streams. I'm still thinking summer will be mostly dry here.
