It's getting bad when TWC is more accurate for my area than NWS..been like that all spring and summer. Today's NWS forcast: mostly sunny, 40% chance of thunderstorms. High 91

TWC app: 100% chance of rain. Some storms may be severe.

Currently 62°, severe thunderstorms, 1.11 inches of rain

Dang looks like Asheville East is absolutely taking a beating this evening. Looks like a storm is just training there.

Yeah, we were under it.  About 3.5 hours moderate to heavy rain.  Lost power for 2.5 hours.  Not complaining.  We were very dry.

Lol I wonder if you live in a generally dry area like the airport.  We've not gone 2 days here without seeing measurable rainfall.

Its usually not that dry but slightly dryer than areas like SW McDowell and up near Linville. Some years storms roll off Mt Mitchell and comes right over central McDowell. That hasn't been the case this year so far. Regardless, the Euro is not doing well with summer thunderstorms this year.

Yeah the last part is definitely true. It's been a mixed bag for sure.
