Up to 3.69" event total here. Looks like we'll probably get to 5" for the event before all is said and done.

Thankfully it's been pretty spread out.

Agreed on both statements, and I have also greatly appreciated the duration of the event. While there have been significant downpours from time to time, most of our 3+ inches have been spread out over the past 48 hours. It makes it much easier for the ground to absorb and rebound. However, I know some of our escarpment members have had much more rain in shorter periods, so it might get pretty bad along the Blue Ridge before this is all said and done.

@strongwxnc is winning the rainfall challenge right now, it seems. He's even beating out @Rainforrest!

100% agree! I have loved this extended spring. We had a high of only 66 today. In Hickory. On June 21. Wow.

Oh, and I am now at 4.21 inches of rainfall this week with more to come tonight and tomorrow. It has been quite wet.

Yeah the region itself has been really enjoying some beautiful weather this spring. And yeah this rainfall was well modeled also in my opinion.  Just about everyone is a winner from this cutoff low.

Right where I am, the elevation doubles (from ~1700 to ~3400) within a mile or so west.  That's bound to play into these comparatively exaggerated amounts of rain we get here sometimes.

That and the heavy band a few days ago trained over you and mostly missed my location.

Wlos is only reporting that the airport received 1.61 inches of rainfall this month. Can anyone in or around Buncombe verify there total rainfall this week? That seems very very underreported.
Looking at Cocorahs monthly totals to date in Buncombe County, it seems entirely plausible. cf64a8871f5420d04abfe4599add1dd6.jpg
