Safely in upper 30's here for overnight. Still have to make another month to REALLY be safe (last freeze May 23rd both 2002 and 1997).

Yup. Always tempting to plant during a warm spell in April but that's a rookie mistake. I've got my plants safely in my greenhouse right now with a temp of 78. I'll plant in mid May. I'll have some big starter plants. July first I'll have a new addition to my annual garden. Putting in new beds to make room for huge weed plants lol

Low 32 with frost.

That slight milky looking haze that's especially visible in the western sky right now where the sun is... that you've probably absentmindedly assumed are thin high clouds ;)... could this haze be from the recently erupted volcano in Russia?

There is a large brush fire north of Manchester....Maybe smoke from that?

Got a frosty car-topper. Did I plant my new garden too early?

Depends on what's in your garden!

If it's tomatoes and peppers and the like, then yes...definitely too early. If things like broccoli, lettuce, and spinach then they should have been in the ground for at least a few weeks now, so you'd be fine!
