Torch Tiger
2 hours ago, BrianW said: Pretty epic day for severe here... The atmosphere is primed for thunderstorm development today as a stationary front sits in south-central Florida and additional parameters point to the increased potential. This morning`s 12Z sounding highlighted PWATs of 1.57in which is near the 90th percentile for this time of year. In addition, low-level winds will begin to veer more westerly/southwesterly as a previously formed mesoscale convective system breaks up into multiple positive vorticity pulses that advect over the Florida Peninsula. It's just so high up there. The crazy thing is the difference in weather between 3Kft and MWN summit is the same as it is from sea level to 3Kft (which is huge). Up at 4,000ft had a half inch to an inch of very sloppy wet paste this morning on Mansfield at like 33F. A thousand feet lower at 3,000ft a bunch of white rain with just a trace/clumpy coating on the board from this event so far on the webcam.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue mainly across the eastern half of South florida this evening. Some of these thunderstorms still have the potential to become strong to severe containing strong gusty winds, hail, and heavy downpours. Therefore, the Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been extended until 10 pm for Broward and Palm Beach Counties. No it isn’t. 2

The annual Pittston Farm men's retreat is this Thurs-Sat. We get the nicest day in the 7-day on Friday but Thursday's drive up will be a sloppy, slimy mess on the final 20+ miles on gravel roads. Probably the least snow there for the retreat since 2006, sometimes there's still 2-3 feet in the woods.
