eyewall
FINALLY...the switchover has commenced. I now have 70%sn/10%ip/10% rain. Temp has dropped to 36 deg. I really hope the transition happens fast here! Send it east please:)
Marion_NC_WX
Power is flashing here... uh oh. Hang in there ol' buddy...it's been flashin here as well. As strongwxnc posted, the 850's are crashing and the snow is turning more and more to powder. The radar trends looks pretty darn well for Western North Carolina tonight. Looking at this national composite, you can the see the precip mass consolidation...

Cheeznado
Still under an inch here, looking at radar may end up with 2" max, but that is fine, about what I expected, Tomorrow AM will go out and take pics. With my road trip to the north earlier today it was a great Xmas. Good luck to those farther east!

jshetley
100% rain now. Guess Union county SC is not the place to be. And unless things change the warnings for SC below I-85 will bust bigtime.

I can now say "there's simply no place to go...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" Snow with 3 miles of me, but it's back to rain here. Things looked good back in Spartanburg about an hour ago, but it doesnt seem to be advancing any further south.

I can now say "there's simply no place to go...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" Good for you Peach...:snowman:I had you pegged for some of the best in the upstate and still believe you will get quite a bit. Over here on the other hand it's snowing moderately but it'll take a lot to get any accumulation. We got a lot more rain today than most everybody, soaked everything down real good and it's still above freezing. Got a dusting on the porch and that's all so far, but enjoy looking out the window and seeing it fall!

tarheelwx
Nothing in Archdale? That's astonishing. I'm probably 13 miles NNE of you and have over 1" of snow on the ground and moderate flakes falling. I've got close to 3" in Colfax and I heard my aunt in Julian had nothing. Wow.
