Gastonwxman
Finally getting some precipitation here, but it is light rain at the moment. Dropping to 36 now, so snow should be coming here soon.
DCMetroWinston
Snow picking up again in Northeast Winston-Salem. Roads are covered west of U.S. 52 in Winston, but mostly not covered east of U.S. 52. However, I saw a car in the ditch near Walkertown off U.S. 311, which is partially covered in snow in shaded and valley areas. Road conditions are deteriorating throughout Winston. It's snowing hard in Lincolnton so it shouldn't be too terribly long.

Wow
I'm literally 3 miles south of the 0 line at the 925mb level. I just drove a few miles north and the accumulations are significantly better. I won't get more than a dusting until the temps fall another degree at the surface. DCMetroWinston
Between Winston Salem and Kernersville it's been snowing moderate to heavy since sometime between 11-12:30 (I was in church) I would guess 2 inches on the ground right now and snowing hard. It started snowing in Winston-Salem around 11:10 a.m.

phil882
Cool Phil...ummm can you do something about this warm nose?? Are you still just getting rain? The good news is that the radar is filling back in over West Georgia as the two main bands are merging once again as the trough continues to deepen. I think you should change over in the next hour if you haven't already. You might be on the lower end of the 2-5" but you will get some accumulation. Stuck at 32.8 here in Dahlonega. Good news is I did manage to measure 1.6" so far and it's constantly melting. Very nice and just check out the radar back to our west. Nice totals so far.....I dont have any explanation for whats going on here....its still just drizzling here. Forget about snow or what not, based on radar, you still would think it would be raining decently. Weird.
