Started off as a little rain but it has quickly changed over to moderate to heavy sleet here. Temp went from 43 to 38 in a matter of 5 minutes. Looking for the first flakes to mix in but it's all sleet at the moment. I must be right on the transition zone.

I'll be honest, with the temps as warm as they are I didn't expect anything frozen till 4 or 5pm.

Good deal Lookout. Been hovering around 38° now down to 37.6° with light to steady rain all morning. Got a nose aloft I want to bust real bad about right now!:gun_bandana:

Daylight has inhibited snow from sticking to pavement/roads, but in a couple of hours, that will not be the case.

Yep, I hate the daylight. It will get better towards 4-5 PM, at least.

Down to 33 at KGSO now. That's my favorite time for snow since you can see the snow but its not light enough to really keep the snow from sticking.

Rain snow mix in my corner of Greenville, SC. Started off as more snow than rain...now about 60/40 rain vs snow.

What side of Greenville are you on... I'm in the southeast corner so I suspect I'll be one of the last to change over... that HRRR doesn't look too great this way... only 1-2". I get the feeling its a little off though.

Dry, slightly chilly, prepared for the upcoming screwjob. You can see the outline of the sun through the clouds occasionally.

I know this is basically your MO, but I would appreciate it if you would just chill a little bit. It is coming. Sky is noticeably darker and it's gotten a little colder. We will get something, so you might as well relax and enjoy your Christmas!

Made it to Asheville, in a little over 2 hours. DOT is doing a great job, roads aren't too bad yet, but we did see two overturned vehicles on I-40 as we got closer to Asheville. Was closing in on a inch near the lower end of lake hickory when we left at around 11 am, estimating that we have around 4 inches or so here in Woodfin as light snow continues. Ready for this puppy to go "boom"!

Still snowing here, seems light but it hasn't stopped since it started at 9am. Not even sure how much is out there but the secondary roads are starting to get covered.

temperature at hickory is 32, so i bet im pretty close to that.

Really hope those further south/east can get in on this soon.

Edit: Few Reports Coming In now.

Vale [Lincoln Co, NC] amateur radio reports SNOW of M2.0 INCH at 02:08 PM EST

7 W Morganton [burke Co, NC] trained spotter reports SNOW of M4.5 INCH at 02:10 PM EST
