Observations Christmas Day Storm and Beyond

I've seen it happen before, snows literally all the way around us like we're on some tropical island....not supposed to be the case this time, we shall see. Don't have that warm fuzzy feeling right now b/c i've been burned nefore by winter storm warnings and some fluke devilish thing happens with the warm air aloft in this pocket!

Remember in March when we were supposed to get a few inches but got nothing thanks to soil temps? :axe: Nothing ever goes right here.

In Dahlonega Very moderate snow (almost heavy). Nice quarter size flakes. About 1/2" so far. Temp is still stuck above freezing at 32.7. Driveway is slushy but everything else has a nice coating.

Heaviest I've seen so far today and the models have my best happening after 1pm.:snowman:

Without a high to the north we are screwed here in the upstate. Will only be rain here all the way out. By the time the cold air comes, and part 2 starts it's from I-77 east. So much for a white Christmas anywhere in this area.

Have to agree with you Shetley. There still hope, but its fading fast with me. Was hoping that original band set up just to uor south and east. Didnt happen.
