Start high.  You can always go higher

We are long overdue for a cold period stretching from the 20’th into the new year or at least a seasonable period without a rain storm during that time

last xmas I believe was one of the colder days of the year after the buffalo bomb/cutter

Temps were a bit upside down that day.  High at Central Park was 15 while at my place it was 35.  That was a cheap 9:01 PM high - afternoon high was 18, but it's always odd when NY is colder than here.  For the years 2020 and 2022, Dec 23-25 has totaled 5.80" precip but only the 1.2" frozen ahead of 3"+ RA on 12/23/22.  Can we score another mega-Grinch?

Toward the end of Dec 22 was pretty cold down here. The local mountain (Wachusett) pumped out an amazing amount of manmade stuff which really allowed them to weather the lack of snow for Jan and Feb.

There are certainly some major MAJOR US military installations under threat from this thing. I keep thinking of one in particular constructed on a dry lake bed in Nevada that may not be dry after this.

Don't worry.  They'll use the technology developed from the captured space aliens they have to divert the water.

Fire pits

Who has a solo stove

Who has a generic one

Pros/cons?

I got a fire pit kit from Lowes. I love it. It’s made from pavers and easy to put together.

I also have a generic solostove. I forget the brand, I’ll double check tomorrow. I haven’t used it yet.

I almost bought that kit, but ended up liking smaller pavers better and buying the insert seperate. Built it today.

I’ve had it for about 4 years I think now. Yeah there’s lot of ways to make one. I prefer these so much more compared to those metal ones you can buy. Those rust out.

what kind of scope are you using? I was thinking about getting one, but don't know much about them. had a crappy one when I was a kid. Lots of used ones on marketplace.

Any 60's pop/rock music fiends out there, especially vinyl?  I'm a thrifter/seller, it's a great hustle, and of course love music.  I also buy, repair musical instruments and etc.  Anyway, picked up a vinyl record lot at auction for $235 shipped.  The pictures weren't too good.

Here's ~30 of the 60.  Mostly early mono versions with original plastic on them.  :sun:

Are you still able to use quarters at the slots in any of the CT casinos?

I know Foxwoods only takes those paper tickets or cards I believe. I think you can put bills in but it'll spit out a ticket. Don't remember coins being an option

ughhh damn it...I have a ton of quarters and I'm going next Saturday.

I know they used to take quarters back in the day b/c my parents and grandparents would save quarters for the slots.
