Day 10 of knee replacement.  Walking unassisted already can do more than pre surgery.  Still have staples, out next week. Pain was ridiculous for 5 days but definitely less now.

Thank god that photo stops where it does at the upper thigh.

Probably because you were in so much pain, I could walk better the day after I had my hip replaced, it felt great to walk without pain. Knees take a little longer to heal, the joint is more complicated than the hip.

Nice mottling below the knee.  MY ablation last year involved equipment entering each femoral vein and thence to the heart, where the specialist zapped the rogue electrical sources.  Afterwards, half of my right thigh turned that deep purple then eventually spread to below the knee and went thru the usual purple-to-ghastly-yellow sequence over several weeks.  Oddly, there was none of that on the left side.

two guys at work still wear masks. One of them got covid in Feb and I figured after 2.5yrs he'd ditch the mask at that point, but still wears the N95. I don't think he'll ever stop wearing it, at least inside at work.

In W MA I would guess at least 10% of folks in retail stores / super markets are masked.

The Covid nutcases and vax lunatics and mask wearers. Just all so laughable. All for a fake virus. It’s absolutely a comedy show . Poisoning their bodies with chemicals

I didn’t realize Covid was still a thing . I work in a affluent democratic suburb just west of Boston and maybe 2 people wear a mask out of one hundred

. Last year some would openly talk about getting their n’th booster . It seems to me most have realized , with all respect to them..(because I really like these folks )  that the booster “drive“  was a aggressive ** display of corporate marketing levered via  various media to leverage opinion shaping to boost revenue** .

It’s basic capitalism in this day and age and if corporates didn’t push this (As much as govt and regulators allow)  , they would lose value and their jobs  . It is what it is , it’s part of human nature and *always* will be . Doesn’t mean people getting jabs will have xyz happening (like the other “side”) likes to say, but the risks do seem to increase the more jabs one receives and there are enough unknowns regarding long term data.

I’m not sure why my mind went here but this sums up why people are so divided on every little thing. Should be able to just say it’s laughable and a comedy show to get a point across… but we all love to make sure people we don’t agree with are labeled something further, like nutcases and lunatics.  And we see it everywhere now, even Presidents.

Although everyone has a bit of crazy in them, just shines through in different ways.

Honestly it may have nothing to do with COVID now, just a lingering behavior.  Like Asian cultures really started wearing masks in past outbreaks but continued to do so even after they ended. I think you see Immunocompromised folks continuing with masks when they found out it does seem to keep you from getting sick (with anything) as many folks went two years without even a sniffle thanks to masks and sanitation (though we need our bodies to get sick, so it’s too much of a good thing if you aren’t testing the immune system).

I’ve also had a coworker wear one because they were sick with something not COVID and wanted to be polite and not spread it. I’m not sure I’d do the same (maybe I’m too selfish) but can’t hate the gesture.

Why anyone would ever go into that part of the forum is beyond me. Those people are what’s wrong with our country and what will finally change in a new regime in 24

I don't see anything wrong getting a booster. Just like I would getting a flu shot yearly. If you are around some in the medical field and listen to what they say.....and close to vulnerable people..it's probably a good thing to do.  I haven't gotten one in awhile, but will probably do so in the Fall.

Covid isn't a concern at all for me, but I don't want loved ones who are vulnerable to get it due to any selfishness on my part.

On occassion I will buy a donut with coffee on my way to work. wth, $1.79 for a stinking old fashioned at DD? Madness

$3.50 for a medium iced coffee that has a 50/50 chance at being terrible and a 0% chance at being excellent is madness.

I still cave on occasion though.

The booster hasn’t stopped folks from contracting it or passing it on . By the time you get a booster , a new variant that is less dangerous ..is the dominant strain. It’s about the Benjamin’s now more then ever. I mean that seems About as easy to see as IO blocking last year was not gonna lead to snow on the East coast . But the outlets where pfizer and Moderna are sponsors aren’t going to spoon feed you This. It’s like waiting for Bastardi to say it’s not gonna snow .

Considering The MRNA delivery System was stopped in trials when multiple administrations Over a shorter period  led to *very high side Effects* when it was tried as a means to Treat diseases all the money that when in to this revolutionary system decided to pivot to vaccine due to the less frequent administrations in usual vaccine use . There are zero trials or safety data on what 6-10+ shots spaces over 4-5 years would do to a person. Zero . But we do have data that frequent administration over a short period was very dangerous prior to when mrna pivoted to a means for vaccination. We also know that the pharmaceuticals have no liability regarding side effects from covid shots .** It was passed by FDA Due to the emergency of the pandemic at the time , so some safety standards were waived .

So I would say it’s ignorant to say the reason not to get multiple annual boosters is selfishness.

MRNA has been decades in the making. Ask Jerry and Whitinsvillewx who are involved with this. There is a lot of information out there on things stopped because of side effects like pain or swelling near the shot. I saw that deemed as a "severe" side effect. Really?

We have the largest sample size ever for a vaccine. So far from what I have seen, things seem to be going well overall in terms of health side effects. For long term stuff, MRNA technology has been around for awhile. I'm sure someone can find a side effect and say "See...I told you!!" But when you have a sample size in the billions, you'll find anything. I've talked to some in the field and they are confident in the technology. MRNA is now being looked at to fight cancer. That's pretty effing awesome.

I feel like people will just believe what they want to believe. The same opinions on weather and climate change have been in parallels with this. Most of those who are "proud" not to be vaccinated and brag about it are just selfish people consumed by everything being a conspiracy. If some are hesitant because they feel there isn't enough data, I can respect that. But you do have a huge population that are extremely ignorant and think this is "a creating from the libs."
