Tomorrow the snow comes back to South Lake Tahoe again. Palisades will get about 12 inches in the next few days over 7000 feet. They FINALLY managed to get the 8200' level platform cleaned of snow. That was ridiculously embarrassing, Tahoe. It took FIVE men, two of which used a snow blower AND a fracking skid-steer!  It also took them TWO DAYS, LMAO!!! I am an old man, I could have done the deed with a Jebman shovel in about eighteen hours, all in one day! C'mon, Palisades crew! It was ONLY four feet of snow!

Anyway, the storms will go easy on the Palisades this time around, only a foot of snow. Try not to get overworked, Tahoe crews. Its only twelve inches of snow, it should be light and fluffy this time. I know that heavy wet snow is so hard on your backs, Palisades crew.

Check out the webcams, by tomorrow afternoon snow should be flying. Ridgetop winds will be gusting to 75 mph. Nice, refreshing cool day for a jebwalk in the Sierran Cordillera!!

TERRIFIC Bluebird Day at the Palisades!

That thirteenth pic is absolutely ICONIC!

Okay folks - Palisades is ALREADY seeing flurries! Snow was supposed to start late Sunday. Palisades always gets it first. https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams

NO ONE ever cranes their neck tryin' to see snow falling at the Palisades!

It just snows and snows and snows. I think they just read the weather models looking for a clear day to try to dig out, the way we search the models to find snow to fall here in the Mid Atlantic.

It’s been bad for most in the East

Cities? Yes. Ski areas in NNE have had a nice rebound the 2nd half of the season. The Mt Mansfield (Stowe) snow stake has a depth of 81” this morning. https://matthewparrilla.com/mansfield-stake/

Some of the locations in the white mountains have depths at or above 6 feet. Here’s a pic of a recent slide in tuckermans ravine. Large crack clearly evident with the debris running down the floor of the ravine.

Didn’t a skier trigger an avalanche somewhere up there about 3 days ago?

Yes. It happened in a relatively narrow area previously cleared as a result of a landslide. Depth of the debris was 9 feet and one of the skiers was fully buried but survived. Here’s a link to the report.

Its snowin' but GOOD in the Palisades today! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Check out that drift forming on the 8200' level platform! Looks to be a foot high already! Get ready to have to DIG THAT SNOW again, Tahoe Crew! Its AMAZING how all that fresh snow just piles up and blows all around forming the most exquisite drifts!

I'm really bummed out, feelin like one hell of a Deb right now. South Cali is gonna get most of tomorrow's storm. Winter is nearly over with in the Sierra, and I have to make do with only 12 inches of new snow tomorrow at the 8200' level. Mammoth is gonna HOG nearly all of the latest Atmospheric River! I hope those snowhogs DROWN in all that spring runoff! The sun angle is getting more and more MURDEROUS, even in the famed Sierran Cordillera! Damn you to hell Mammoth and south! Maybe they'll all slide clear down Mammoth Mountain in one huge mudslide in the spring!

Yeah I don't know why a GM graduate would have a beef with MD.  You are talking about a small mid major school in basketball that has no ties with MD.  This is almost worse than a rain/snow storm that divides with 95 region.

Probably got his application rejected and had to settle for GM.

I'd say the people that have legit beef with UMD would be UVA/Duke. I didn't go to UMD but grew up in MD. Loved the classic ACC rivalry games. Pretty much gave up on the Terps when they moved to Big10.

Forget Tahoe for now, they are barely gonna eke out 4 skinny inches of the pow. But Mammoth!

The Village at Mammoth is getting hammered by powder snow right now! They are expecting 20 inches just today!

https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-village

I've been there once and it's phenomenal skiing.  They are less than three feet away from their all-time snowiest winter.  The record is 668" and before today, they are at 634" so they shouldn't have any trouble beating it soon.
