Set a new daily rainfall record of 1.78 inches. Sleet mixed in at times. Temp hung right at 32.5-33.5 all day. Total precip for the storm was 2.04 inches. Doing a little math, a sloppy 6 or 7 to 1 ratio if snow would have gave 12 to 14 inches.... what a terrible winter this has been.

2.16” here in ashburn.

temps hung around 36-39 the whole time.

with a proper cold air in place and the same track, this would have been 20 inches.

But despite the cold surface temps, this wasn’t even close. Even if the surface was below freezing, it would have been ice given the airmass. >32 isotherm all the way up to 700mb.

So this was nowhere being close to a snowstorm without a 50/50 and a much, MUCH colder airmass.

Wow. Over twice as much as the 1.01" IAD recorded. The band must have set up just N and W of the airport over you.

Up to 53 and mostly sunny. Loving this weather.

LOL, cloudy and 41.7/19.5 here at the moment, although glancing at satellite we may break out of the clouds shortly. What it IS is windy, WNW at 11 gusting to 20 mph. Maybe that 2 inches of cold 33 degree rain with a bit of sleet cooled the ground here lol.

Terp, manual gauge or not?  2”+ would be a big outlier

Near 60 today and near 70 tomorrow in Balt City area. Guessing the DC and northern VA crew should be into the 60s today and maybe into the 70s tomorrow...

I'm hoping the clouds don't roll in until after sunset to get some quality vitamin D time after work, but I doubt it.

Have the kid out riding today 58 currently just south of Lovettesville.

We are so used to this time of year no riding at all due to frozen ground. Or finding an indoor which is just out of the elements but still an ice box. Also when crossing the Potomac at Brunswick the trees right along the bank are fully budding. And the cottonwood was flying.
