KPITSnow
Severe thunderstorm watch to the west is a good sign for those of us that don’t want tornadoes
TimB
Quite a number of PWS around the county that are at or very close to 90.

TimB
1 minute ago, Ahoff said: Why is that? What does that do? Higher risk was to our west, so if the upstream watch in a more favorable environment for severe is only a severe thunderstorm watch, it’s not likely we’ll be at risk for tornadoes.

With the breeze and 52 dew point if our summers were like this it would be great. problem is if it’s 85 in the summer it almost always means 65 plus dew point
KPITSnow
1 minute ago, Ahoff said: Why is that? What does that do? Well I mean if there was going to be a high tornado threat they’d likely have continued east with the tornado watch instead of severe thunderstorm
Ahoff
Just now, KPITSnow said: Well I mean if there was going to be a high tornado threat they’d likely have continued east with the tornado watch instead of severe thunderstorm Ok, I got ya. That makes sense. I didn't know if something meant it it just made it overall less conducive for tornadoes. Yes, tornadoes definitely aren't needed. Ahoff
What's also wild is that it's mid 80s here, NYC is at 49 right now. Doesn't happen too often that it's that big of a difference.

north pgh
HRRR did a great job with today’s thunderstorms. It had the line fizzle out and redevelop just to our east. We did have strong winds from the front but hardly any rain and no thunder. This happens a lot.

Ahoff
This week may very well be the best weather week of the year. You just don't get stretches like this too often. Really beautiful weather. Could see something similar again in September or October, but can't count on that.
TimB
NWS posted a graphic. Just a casual 6 degrees above normal highs for the year to date, with probably six more days with well above normal highs incoming.
