jbenedet
We’re losing the cold shot in early February as the SE ridge is doing what it’s been doing all season. Looks to be evolving into a more zonal look. Good news is suppression is off the table. Arctic cold with no snow is the worst.

#NoPoles
I got in my car yesterday morning and said to myself, wow it feels cold this morning. Then I saw the temp was 21. Damn, lol, if 21 feels cold, this has been an easy winter. If the cold shot materializes, I'm going to be cryin for my momma. 3

Their previous cold records were at different locations that probably radiated better. The Feb 2016 cold outbreak was the coldest temps at each location since the 1957 outbreak. But yeah, toss that -56…not credible. It isn’t recognized officially anyway. I think the state record is -40 in 1984.

WalpoleJoe
Heading to MKE 2/1 through 2/5. Cold has moderated there, too, during that time frame. But at least there will be snow on the ground and temps below freezing. I was hoping for more of the single digits by day and below 0 by night, but I will take what I can get this winter.
