12z guidance hasn't been bad, hope the euro can bring it home

Just an observation as of late but anyone else notice how the similar the CMC has been to the Euro as of late, at least medium range.

Today's 12Z CMC has a more SW to NE orientation with the baroclinicity.  Guess we'll see how the euro compares at 12Z ...

This kind of system can be our bread & butter up here. Hope it delivers. The fronto band can really dump, but often seems to drift further north than anticipated instead of sitting overhead. Fingers crossed.

Fully bracing myself for only an inch or two, and even that may not come all at once as there could be a break in precip, or a bit of rain/freezing rain depending on temps before it ends as snow.

Not counting on the GFS pulling this one out, but I guess anything is possible.

Would love to be in Rockford, but I am thinking 88 and north ends up solid.

That's the thing, my house is just about two miles south of 88. So if things stay as planned I can possibly scrape by with a decent event but there's not a whole lot of wiggle room.
