MarkO
Snowpack is down to about 3" in Lowell. About 1/2" of frozen, followed by about 1.5" of rain. Currently sitting at 36.1F. I'm guessing we got around 4" of snow last night up at the cabin, followed by an hour or so of sleet, then about 1/4" of rain. I'm guessing a little compaction, but the rain that fell probably got absorbed by the recent snow. Temps rose to 33 by this morning and holding steady at 32.

If the sun comes out we will warm here but Greenfield is notorious for CAD in the winter. Plenty of times I’ve seen it 50° 10 miles east and west of here and it stays locked in the low to mid 30s here. Not sure how how we pulled off 7.5", but driving to work through GYX looked similar until I got on the highway That's probably about what I'd have reported had I gone out with the yardstick at 4 AM. At that time, we had SN- at upper teens and there was 4-5" on the porch railing. At 5:30 it was mid 20s with pounding IP and maybe 1.5" on the railing and at my 7 AM obs time we had light ZR at near 30, the railing was down to <1" and I could only report 5.3" of very soggy stuff. I'm not looking forward to running the snowblower as shoveling was awful - no matter how hard I tried to hurl the stuff, only about half the load would detach from the blade. Total precip thru 7 was 1.12" and I estimated the ZR at 0.10" using the accretion amount. Assuming 7.5" at 4 AM, perhaps ~0.60" LE followed by ~0.40" LE from IP. QPF was consistent with the forecast 8-12" but this one makes up for the 22-23 overperformer.

STILL N OF PIKE
Wildcat still has 14” listed from the 25’th but a tweet from mountain ops 55 mins ago says 14” last nite and Pinkham notch got 7” . Hmmm Maybe the summit got that much more ...did mid level warming cook everyone up to 4K feet or...would summit have done that much better

Lava Rock
1 minute ago, tamarack said: That's probably about what I'd have reported had I gone out with the yardstick at 4 AM. Go easy on the shoveling. I had to shovel just a bit around the garage doors and heart was pounding. I'm always careful and take breaks but that stuff was hvy as shit
