Snowpack is down to about 3" in Lowell. About 1/2" of frozen, followed by about 1.5" of rain. Currently sitting at 36.1F.

I'm guessing we got around 4" of snow last night up at the cabin, followed by an hour or so of sleet, then about 1/4" of rain. I'm guessing a little compaction, but the rain that fell probably got absorbed by the recent snow. Temps rose to 33 by this morning and holding steady at 32.

The CAD from Gene to Jeff, and to some extent to Brian is remarkable.  We are 30/28 here.  I CAD pretty well, as this whole area does, but Brian and Gene are at another level.

Finally at 8:15am I have hit 32   Snow to sleet to end as freezing rain here.  I didn't not measure during the storm but now it is an ice crusted 4"

Had about 1.5” snow and then .75” rain. Glad I went out and cleared the driveway last night. It did not all get washed away.

January to remember.

meh.

I didn’t do anything for my driveway. It’s a mess right now, but still have 40’s and sun the rest of today. The damage to the packs happens from here to sunset.

And with what’s left, highs tomorrow will be mid 30’s and presuming your driveway is not in full shade, the sun will do a lot of work with that.

Yeah compacted to 4" here.  Trees are glazed but snow is deep.  We had a nice layer of sleet so it is powder underneath

If the sun comes out we will warm here but Greenfield is notorious for CAD in the winter.  Plenty of times I’ve seen it 50° 10 miles east and west of here and it stays locked  in the low to mid 30s here.

Anyway, I just do it because I’ve had too many disaster driveways over the years and I’m not really fond of falling on ice.

I get it.

But we’re also heading right back into a pattern that looks especially torchy. So bias it tilted heavily AN and temps busting low for next 10 days.

About 5 inches of sloppy snow here, thinking it's just enough to still get the grooming done, was really hoping for 8 inches. Usually we're in the snowbelt up here and never have these issues...

Given your locations relative to mine, I would have thought you guys would have done better. Not sure how how we pulled off 7.5", but driving to work through GYX looked similar until I got on the highway

Where aren't you seeing Wildcat?  Someone just texted me 14" which sounds anomalous

No lol that was their report yesterday (25’th)  that totaled the last storm and it’s two day totals . They have not updated since 5am Wednesday prior To the current storm . My guess is 7-10” for them but we’ll see. As of 9am ..they still haven’t given a report in over 24 hours ..I’m sure they don’t mind the confusion

Same issue here. I'm having our plow guy who does the camp road come over and scrape at least the incline of our driveway to get rid of the slush. Will likely need to sand too

Given your locations relative to mine, I would have thought you guys would have done better. Not sure how how we pulled off 7.5", but driving to work through GYX looked similar until I got on the highway

That's probably about what I'd have reported had I gone out with the yardstick at 4 AM.  At that time, we had SN- at upper teens and there was 4-5" on the porch railing.  At 5:30 it was mid 20s with pounding IP and maybe 1.5" on the railing and at my 7 AM obs time we had light ZR at near 30, the railing was down to <1" and I could only report 5.3" of very soggy stuff.  I'm not looking forward to running the snowblower as shoveling was awful - no matter how hard I tried to hurl the stuff, only about half the load would detach from the blade.  Total precip thru 7 was 1.12" and I estimated the ZR at 0.10" using the accretion amount.  Assuming 7.5" at 4 AM, perhaps ~0.60" LE followed by ~0.40" LE from IP.  QPF was consistent with the forecast 8-12" but this one makes up for the 22-23 overperformer.

Go easy on the shoveling. I had to shovel just a bit around the garage doors and heart was pounding. I'm always careful and take breaks but that stuff was hvy as shit
