A week ago, on 4-3. As I was heading to a morning errand, I walked out the back door and saw this. Turned around and grabbed the camera and took some sunrise shots from the alley behind the house. So the house, trees and wires are part of the scenery.

Looking east, through the neighbors porch. Taken with the 24-70mm at 67mm...

Looking south as the color as zipping past. I like howw you can see the clouds at the bottom are lit up while the clouds above it (top of image) are blocked and in the shadow and still white. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm...

After the tornado in the area earlier in the day 4-5, the clearing line as the system departed hit the area right at sunset.

The yellows as the Sun found the opening. Taken with the 24-70mm at 63mm...

On 4-6 the system was still to my east but not far enough away to not give me some high clouds and with the severe clear west of me, it meant another colorful evening post sunset.

Starting off looking north at the backside of the firehouse and as the orange started. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm (cropped in camera)...

4-9 was an approaching system sunset and a study on the point of patience with some sunsets.

There was plenty of cirrus as the Sun got closer to all the gunk on the horizon as I got out to the overpass. Taken with the 24-70mm at 28mm...

Trust me the light faded rapidly as the Sun sank lower. But for some reason I stayed for the last visible wavelength. Good thing I did. Later, after I got home, I saw on the visible satellite that a clear donut-hole opened up in way western Iowa. The result was a red flash that erupted from nowhere. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm (cropped in camera)...

Only, two weeks behind now. This is from 4-14.

I do remember racing after dinner trying to get to this sunset. I probably should have just gone to the municipal lot, which is a lot closer, but I drove all the way out to the firehouse and literally had to plop the camera down beside the car in the parking lot to get this single image. So please excuse if the horizon is a little unlevel and any other imperfections. Taken with the 24-70mm at 44mm (cropped in camera)...

And now for something completely different, a sunrise from 6-3. That was a work day so this was taken from the alley behind the garage so the security light, trees and neighbor's house are all part of the equation. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm...
