Thunder and darkening skies to the west from those cells erupting in N Arlington and across the river in MoCo. Question is, for my immediate, is whether there's anything to impart (or propagate) a little more easterly direction to these cells; if they do the SW-NE dance most of them have today, I think I'll just get grazed in upper NW.

Sunset to my west, non stop thunder and lightning to my east.

Lightning strikes off the chart here.  Really good crawlers.  Occasional barbed wire appearance in sky which is fairly common after severe here.  Wish it was darker the HDR10+ camera would have really caught them so much better.  Continuous dry thunder like that rolling sound you hear in the Grand Canyon.  Loved it.

There were 426 storm reports from the slight risk! Did all of you guys in the Mid Atlantic Discussion thread do a spotter report or something? Because I know several of you live in Maryland. And it would appear there will be more severe reports in the Northeast corridor today.

Apparently Richmond got some good wind? All I got in blacksburg was some big raindrops before met club. More rain on the way though!

Yes, it looks like a bomb went off down the Grove Avenue corridor on my way to work.  Popped up quick to the south of Tuckahoe and winds were impressive, reports of hail but I did not get any (in Tuckahoe) limbs and trees down, power outage over 100K at peak.
